The time displayed on Moneta Markets trading platforms is based on the trading server time rather than your local or device time. As a result, the time shown on your platform may differ from the time displayed on your computer, mobile device, or local timezone.
The trading server time is standardised to ensure that daily chart candles align with the New York close at 5:00 PM ET, providing consistent chart data and trading records across all accounts.
Trading Server Time
Moneta Markets trading servers operate on the following GMT offsets:
- GMT+2 outside Daylight Saving Time (DST), typically from November to March.
- GMT+3 during Daylight Saving Time (DST), typically from March to November.
The server time automatically adjusts in accordance with applicable DST schedules.
Can I Change the Time Display to My Local Time?
This depends on the platform you are using.
MT4 and MT5
The time displayed on MT4 and MT5 is determined by the trading server and cannot be changed to your local time.
All chart timestamps, order timestamps, and trading records are displayed according to the server time.
Moneta Markets AppTrader
Moneta Markets AppTrader also uses the trading server time.
The displayed time cannot be changed to your local timezone within the application.
Pro Trader 2.0
Pro Trader 2.0 allows you to change the timezone displayed on charts.
To change the displayed timezone:
- Open a chart in Pro Trader 2.0.
- Click the Timezone indicator in the bottom-right corner of the chart window.
- Select your preferred timezone.
This changes only the chart's display timezone and does not modify the underlying trading server time.
Why Does the Time Differ from My Local Time?
The platform time may differ from your local time because trading platforms use a standardised server timezone rather than the timezone configured on your device.
This ensures:
- Consistent chart data across all clients.
- Uniform order and execution timestamps.
Daily candles that align with the New York market close.
Important Note
- Trading server time is standardised across trading accounts.
- The server time cannot be changed in MT4, MT5, or Moneta Markets AppTrader.
- In PRO Trader 2.0, only the chart display timezone can be adjusted.
- Changing the display timezone in PRO Trader 2.0 does not affect trade execution, account history, or order timestamps.
All trading records continue to use the trading server time regardless of the timezone displayed on the chart.
