What happens if my losses exceed my account balance?

In leveraged Forex and CFD trading, large or fast market moves can sometimes result in losses that exceed your account balance in theory. However, at Moneta Markets we provide Negative Balance Protection, meaning your trading account cannot stay below zero and you will not owe money beyond your deposited funds. If a loss does push your balance into negative territory due to a rapid market event, it will be reset back to zero under this protection.

If a negative balance does occur, you can request a negative balance reset by following the instructions below:

Log in to the Client Portal and navigating to the Accounts page.
Click the Reset button next to the relevant trading account.
A disclaimer will appear, and you may click Agree to proceed.
