Three specific rules govern trading activity for XAUUSD247: Exposure Limit, Tiered Leverage, and Single-Sided Margin.
Exposure Limit
XAUUSD247 switches to close-only mode once a trader hits either of the following exposure thresholds:
- Gross Exposure Limit: 30,000 lots per account (the sum of all long and short positions).
- Net Exposure Limit: 15,000 lots per account (the net position after hedging).
Example: If a trader holds 14,950 lots long and 50 lots short, gross exposure is 15,000 lots and net exposure is 14,900 lots (neither limit is breached). Opening an additional 100-lot long position raises net exposure to 15,000 lots, triggering the Net Exposure Limit. The symbol enters close-only mode, meaning the trader can only close existing positions or open offsetting trades to lower net exposure.
Tiered Leverage
Leverage for XAUUSD247 is based on the single-sided maximum lot size of a position and decreases progressively as position size grows (account-level leverage settings do not apply).
- Up to 200 lots: 1:500
- 201 to 300 lots: 1:200
- 301 to 500 lots: 1:100
- 501 to 1000 lots: 1:75
- 1.001 to 2,000 lots: 1:50
- 2,001 to 3,000 lots: 1:30
- 3,001 to 5,000 lots: 1:20
- 5,001 to 7,000 lots: 1:10
- 7,001 to 9,000 lots: 1:5
- 9,001 to 15,000 lots: 1:1
Example: If a trader holds 200 lots long and 100 lots short, the system considers only the larger (long) side, placing the position entirely within 1:500 leverage. Adding 1 more lot to the long side applies the lower rate (1:200) to that additional lot, while the original 200 lots remain at 1:500.
Single-Sided Margin
XAUUSD247 margin is calculated strictly based on the largest directional exposure, rather than the net exposure after hedging.
- XAUUSD (Hedging Basis): Margin is calculated only on the unhedged portion (e.g., holding a 5-lot long and 3-lot short results in margin calculated on the remaining 2 lots).
- XAUUSD247 (Single-Sided Margin): The system considers only the larger side and disregards the hedged portion (e.g., holding a 5-lot long and 3-lot short results in margin calculated on the full 5 lots). Consequently, XAUUSD247 requires a higher margin than standard XAUUSD whenever a hedged position is involved.
