By default, charts in MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and MetaTrader 5 (MT5) display only the bid price (the price at which you can sell). If you want to see the ask price (the price at which you can buy) on your chart, you can enable an Ask Price Line in both desktop and mobile apps.
On Desktop (Windows/macOS)
- Right‑click anywhere on the chart.
- Choose Properties.
- In the dialog that appears:
- For MT4: go to the Common tab.
- For MT5: go to the Show tab.
- Tick Show Ask Price Line.
- 5. Click OK.
- The ask price line will then appear on the chart as a separate line showing the current buy price.
On Mobile (iOS & Android)
- Open the Settings menu in the MT4/MT5 app.
- Tap Charts.
- Toggle Ask Price Line to ON (iOS) or check the box (Android).
Once enabled, the ask price line will be shown on your chart alongside the bid price.
This can be especially useful for visualising the spread and understanding where buy orders will be executed relative to the current bid price.
